Hi and a huge welcome!

I'm Samantha Hockley, owner of Pukka Pet Care. Turning my passion and commitment for animals and their welfare into my dream job!

Animals have always been my life's focus; growing up I would find any opportunity to be with animals (still doing now). I was fortunate as my grandparents had various pets, including ducks, goats, chickens, dogs, etc., this was when I knew I adored animals. I'd be in the chicken pen digging the dirt to find snack-sized worms for the chickens.

I rescue or seek help for wildlife also, my heart doesn't just lie with companion animals. I have aided an injured fox and several different types of birds because even wildlife sometimes needs a little assistance.

I have volunteered at a couple of dog rescues, including Dogs Trust, and with a ferret rescue. We would attend country shows and do educational talks on care and awareness.

I now own a menagerie including dogs, ferrets, parakeets, and guinea pigs.

Besides the pure love I have for animals, I feel that learning is everything, you never stop learning! Especially when it comes to animals, as science is always evolving.

I went on to complete a degree in Animal Management, which covered 3 years of modules, including nutrition, reproduction, behaviour, and welfare, to name a few.

Why did I start Pukka Pet Care?

Apart from that fact, I get to manage a business that I am passionate about.

 I believe people should be able to enjoy their time without worrying, "Who's going to be there for my pet?"

​

After the recent life changes and challenges we've all been through, I believe we all should be able to embrace life. Still, attend that social event or business trip and have a loving companion to welcome you back home!

I will be there for your pets when you're not able to be, making sure they are happy and safe upon your return.
